This summer has been one of departures for Brentford, with Thomas Frank and his coaching staff leaving to join Tottenham. In addition to this, Bryan Mbeumo looks set for the exit door, with talk of a move to Manchester United or re-uniting with Thomas Frank in North London. Mark Flekken joined Bayer Leverkusen for a reported £8m fee while Ben Mee was released at the end of his contract.
It seems as though there may be more departures set to come, with Brentford captain Christian Norgaard now linked away from the club. Despite signing a new two-year deal in March, both Arsenal and Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing the Danish international this summer.
Norgaard has been a key member of Brentford's spine since joining the club in 2019, playing a vital role in consolidating their spot as a Premier League club. He possesses some of the best underlying numbers amongst those in his position in the top five leagues, which has seen top clubs sit up and take notice.

Ball-playing DMs have become a key part of this transfer window. Having a destroyer who can pass forward is key, given their deeper position. Some of the best include:

Standard are reporting that while Thomas Frank is interested in bringing his former captain with him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Arsenal's interest is dependent on the future of Thomas Partey. The Ghanaian midfielder is out of contract this summer and there has been no update yet regarding his future at the Emirates.
Tottenham's interest comes as both Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma enter the final year of their contracts at the club. Couple that with Bentancur's injury history, midfield is a pressing concern for Thomas Frank.
Arsenal, on the other hand, look set to reinforce their defensive midfield position with the imminent signing of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi. However, the departure of Jorginho combined with the excellent form of Declan RIce playing further forward has seen Arteta open to adding depth to the number six position.
