What’s Changing?
The plans include several key upgrades:
- Demolition of the current South Stand, replaced with a brand new 7,000-seat grandstand
- Infilled stadium corners, adding another 1,440 seats
- Extended North and East Stands, creating space for an additional 2,900 fans
- A new fan zone will also be constructed in the south-west corner, between the new South Stand and the Main Stand

Council Support
Councillor Rich Herrett, cabinet member for destination, leisure and commercial operations, praised the club’s impact on the region:
"The Council recognises how valuable AFC Bournemouth is to Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. We have a positive relationship with the club and look forward to working with them on these exciting redevelopment plans to improve the matchday experience for fans."
Construction Timeline
The Cherries are aiming to complete the full stadium upgrade in time for the start of the 2027–28 campaign. The expansion will not only improve fan experience but also secure the club’s long-term future at the top level of English football.

On the Pitch: Pre-Season Underway
While the future of Vitality Stadium takes shape, Andoni Iraola’s squad has begun pre-season preparations. Bournemouth claimed a 2-1 win over Hibernian on Tuesday in a behind-closed-doors friendly at their training centre.
Another closed-door fixture against Bristol City is scheduled for Saturday, July 19 as the team ramps up for the new Premier League season.
