Gabriel Agbonlahor, close friend of Jack Grealish, has shared his thoughts on the uncertain future of the Manchester City winger, suggesting that Grealish could depart the club towards the end of the summer transfer window. In a recent discussion on TalkSport, Agbonlahor provided insight into Grealish’s potential exit, highlighting the complexities surrounding the £100 million star’s next move.
Agbonlahor, speaking with Alan Brazil, expressed his belief that Grealish’s transfer could be a late deal, stating, “I think sometimes with these sort of transfers, we saw Rashford’s gone now, but Sancho is looking to move as well. Some of these transfers will happen late in the window, I feel. With Jack, maybe coming to mid-August, end of the transfer window, that’s when I think that you’ll see him probably move.”

The former Villa captain also expressed a personal hope that Grealish could return to his boyhood club, Aston Villa, but acknowledged the financial challenges that might prevent such a move. “You never know, it comes into that late transfer window, Aston Villa have got big problems as well with financial fair play and who they can go and spend big money on, so it might work for Jack and for Villa,” Agbonlahor noted. However, he recognized that Villa’s financial constraints and manager Unai Emery’s preferences could complicate a potential reunion.
Beyond a return to Villa, interest in Grealish has been reported from clubs like Napoli, who are seeking a long-term replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and other Premier League sides such as Everton and West Ham. Napoli’s involvement in the Champions League could appeal to Grealish, who is keen to secure regular football ahead of the World Cup. However, as Agbonlahor suggests, any move is likely to be delayed until the final stages of the transfer window, potentially on Deadline Day.
