Everton have received a major boost ahead of the new season as highly-rated centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite has signed a new long-term contract with the club. The 22-year-old has pledged his future to the Toffees, continuing his impressive rise as a key figure in David Moyes' squad.
Growing Importance at Everton
The England international, who has become a mainstay in Everton’s defence, expressed his delight at extending his stay at Goodison Park. “I’m over the moon. It's been something we've been talking about since the end of the season, and to get it signed now is something I'm really excited about,” Branthwaite said after putting pen to paper.
Having made significant strides since returning from a successful loan spell at PSV Eindhoven, Branthwaite has gone from promising talent to one of the Premier League’s most sought-after young defenders. Despite reported interest from top clubs across Europe, the Carlisle-born defender was clear in his belief that Everton remains the right place for his development.

Trust Key for Branthwaite
“The trust the club's put in me and how many games I've played over the past two seasons has made it quite an easy decision for me to stay and to keep progressing as a player.” he explained.
His decision also reflects a deep connection to the club and its supporters, who have witnessed his growth first-hand. The defender highlighted the strong team spirit within the squad and the passionate backing of the Everton fanbase. “I know the club. I feel loved by the players – we’ve got a good group here – and the fans. Over the past few years, I’ve seen the impact the fans have on us as a team and how much it means to them.”
Branthwaite’s extension will be seen by supporters as a statement of intent as Everton look to stabilise and push forward after several turbulent seasons. Retaining a player of his calibre signals belief in the club’s direction and ambition.
