City are preparing for the likely departure of Savinho to Tottenham, whose exit would leave a gap in Pep Guardiola’s attacking options. In response, City have reinitiated contact with super-agent Ali Barat in a fresh bid to convince Simons to reject Chelsea for a move to the Etihad.
Simons, who has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga in recent seasons, is highly regarded for his creativity, versatility, and ability to influence games from multiple attacking positions. His technical skillset and vision have drawn interest from top European clubs, but Chelsea’s had seemingly been in pole position to secure his services.
However, Manchester City’s entry into the negotiations could significantly shift the dynamics of the transfer race. Guardiola’s track record of developing young talents into world-class players, combined with City’s competitive ambitions, may prove to be an enticing proposition for the 22-year-old.
