Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s journey through football’s elite circles has been marked by prolific goal-scoring and undeniable charisma. Emerging from AC Milan’s youth ranks, he found his stride at Saint-Étienne, netting 41 goals in 97 appearances. His move to Borussia Dortmund in 2013 cemented his status as a world-class striker, with 141 goals in 213 games, including a Bundesliga Golden Boot in 2017.
At Arsenal, where he joined in 2018 for £56 million, he became captain and led the Gunners to the 2020 FA Cup, scoring 92 goals in 163 matches. Despite a fallout with manager Mikel Arteta, Aubameyang’s career continued with stints at Barcelona, Chelsea, and Marseille, where he scored 30 goals in 51 games during the 2023-24 season. At 36, his knack for finding the net remains, underscored by a career tally of over 400 goals across club and country.
Saudi Pro League Stint
Aubameyang’s move to Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League in July 2024 followed a standout season at Marseille, with the club offering a two-year deal to bolster their attack. In the 2024-25 season, he delivered 17 goals and 3 assists in 32 appearances, showcasing his enduring quality.
However, Al-Qadsiah’s shift toward younger players has led to mutual termination talks, with Aubameyang poised to become a free agent less than a year after joining. Reports suggest the club is eyeing a fresher striking option, prompting Aubameyang’s potential exit. His time in Saudi Arabia, though productive, appears to be a short chapter, with the Gabonese striker now exploring new opportunities.

Potential Destinations
As Aubameyang nears free agency, interest is brewing across multiple leagues. Foot Mercato report that not a number of clubs in the Saudi Pro League have registered their interest in signing Aubameyang, as well as one side in the MLS. However, a return to Europe cannot be written off. Clubs in Ligue 1, the Premier League, Turkey’s Süper Lig, Serie A and Spain are all reportedly considering a move.
