Paris Saint-Germain are refusing to give up on Bournemouth centre-back Ilya Zabarnyi, and now club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is reportedly stepping in personally to try and get the deal over the line.

According to RMC Sport, PSG have been chasing Zabarnyi for several months — originally eyeing a move during the Club World Cup — but talks have stalled with Bournemouth holding firm on their €70 million valuation.
Despite rejecting a €60 million bid, the Cherries have shown no signs of softening their stance. They see the 22-year-old Ukrainian as a key asset and want full value if they’re to let him go.
However, PSG aren’t walking away. Instead, Al-Khelaïfi is now getting involved in the negotiations — a move he typically saves for the final stages of important transfers. While he won’t interfere with manager Luis Enrique or sporting director Luis Campos, his presence is seen as a final push to help accelerate a deal.
With additional funds expected from Hugo Ekitike’s transfer to Liverpool, PSG could be ready to return with an improved offer.
Whether that’s enough to convince Bournemouth to sell remains to be seen — but this transfer saga is far from over.
