A Second Spell Under Flick
This marks Thiago’s second collaboration with Flick at Barça. After a brief stint as Flick’s assistant last summer, the ex-midfielder departed for Liverpool, where he continued to reside for a period. Now permanently based in Barcelona, he will once again work within the club’s structure, this time with a focus on providing long-term support.
Mentor and Guide for Young Players
Beyond his technical role, Thiago is expected to act as a mentor for Barça’s younger talents. His deep understanding of the club’s footballing philosophy, combined with his extensive top-level experience, makes him an ideal figure to guide emerging players as they transition into the first team.
Key Qualities: Style, Languages, and Leadership
Thiago’s return brings multiple benefits. His mastery of the Barça style of play, familiarity with Flick’s tactical methods, and fluency in German add valuable dimensions to the coaching team. Moreover, his strong communication skills will further enhance his effectiveness as both a bridge between staff and players and a *support system for Flick.
