Tottenham Hotspur's club captain Son Heung-Min is set to be targeted by MLS side LAFC as speculation grows over the South Korean's future in North London.
Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath suggests the Los Angeles side are set to table an offer to Tottenham for their 33-year-old captain, and with Thomas Frank leaving Son's future open there is every chance that we won't see the attacker at the club for the beginning of the 2025/26 campaign.

The move would see Son follow in the footsteps over fellow Spurs legends Gareth Bale and Hugo Lloris in joining LAFC, however due to Spurs' upcoming pre-season visit to South Korea the deal may have complications.
It is suggested Spurs could lose up to 75% of their fee for the part of the tour in Seoul if hometown hero Son is not part of the playing squad.
Whilst LAFC are set to engage in conversation with Tottenham, the decision to let a player like Son leave will require a consensus between the player, manager, and ownership, and it is currently understood Son's future is undecided.
Thomas Frank's stance
The new Spurs boss has offered a diplomatic position on the future of his current captain, as expected.
Frank said: "Right now I have a player that is fully committed and training well. If a player has been at a club a long time there is always a decision to make."
"The club will always decide in the end. First and foremost, he’s here now. I’m not worried too much about it. Let’s take that five or six weeks down the line."
A player with the stature of Son would usually be labelled 'Not for Sale' but it's a very different situation this summer as a decision must be made over his future with 12 months remaining on his existing contract.
With Mathys Tel signed permanently and Mohammed Kudus coming through the door, alongside the existing crop of talent including Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson, and Dominic Solanke, the new manager may put his case forward for the start of a new era at Tottenham.

The Son legacy
Following a career high 24 goals in all competitions in the 2021/22 season, Son's numbers have hit their lowest in his Tottenham career since his first season on English shores.
With 11 goals in 37 starts last season, Son isn't the player that once sent chills down the backs of Premier League defenders alongside Harry Kane.

It goes beyond any doubt that Son has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest the club have ever seen, and despite a diminished role on the pitch the character of the player speaks volumes with how his teammates hailed him after the Europa League triumph.
James Maddison let out a passionate interview praising his captain, stating :“He’s one of the best humans I’ve ever met. I love him so much. I’m so happy he had that moment in Bilbao, lifting the trophy for this club, the club he loves. He’s been here for 10 years and to watch him and share that moment with him, all of this, this is our job, this is what we do, but as a human being, you will not meet a nicer man."

As both a player and a person Son epitomised everything Spurs supporters want their club to be.
'To dare is to do' could've been tattooed on the South Korean's forehead for his drive, determination, passion in trying to guide Tottenham past the ghosts of old, the forever lingering trophy-dodging title.
If his Spurs career has played its final tune, Son Heung-Min leaves the football club having achieved immortal status as a player but also as a person, two separate voids that feel impossible to fill.
