Why Sesko
Just two years ago, United splashed the cash on Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund, but things haven't gone as they planned, with Hojlund having not hit the heights as they had expected him to for someone who commanded that huge amount of transfer fee. One of the problems United had last season was converting chances, with Rasmus Hojlund scoring 10 goals in 52 appearances last season with 4 of those coming in the league and a conversion rate of 12.5%, it felt like United might need to make do with a more prolific striker, which is why they have decided to bring in Benjamin Sesko who had a much better season at Leipzig scoring 21 goals in 45 appearances with a much better conversion rate of 19.1% i.e 1 in every 5 shots resulted in a goal.
Attributes
Physical Strength and Athleticism
Standing at 1.95m tall, Benjamin Sesko is known for his height and surprising pace, having recorded a top speed of around 35.7 km/h, making him a very big threat aerially with a high aerial duel success rate of 58%. It makes him ideal for hold-up play, a dominant presence in the box, and set pieces.
Finishing and Goal Scoring
One of the things that stands out with Sesko is his finishing, as he's known for scoring with his feet and is also good with headers, which would definitely make him a threat for Ruben Amorim's side. He had an outstanding output in the Bundesliga, averaging a goal every 109 minutes, and with a conversion rate of 33% ranking amongst some of the league's best goal scorers.
Movement and Technical Traits
Not only does he bring elite finishing to the team, but another attribute Sesko has is his ability to make intelligent movement around the frontline, thereby making it easier for his teammates to spot him and give him passes. He is also good at holding up, playing something that was seriously lacking for United last season. With an average of 1.48 successful take-ons per 90, it ranked among the best strikers in the Bundesliga.
Mental and Tactical Intelligence
Sesko is known for his sharp positioning and anticipation, giving him a natural nose for the goal. With Leipzig playing with a high-intensity formation, Sesko won't be a stranger to the tactic that would be employed by his new manager, Ruben Amorim.

What It Means For Hojlund
With Sesko signing for United, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Rasmus Hojlund. Even though he has categorically come out to say he wants to stay and fight for his place at United, the notion of a lack of game time at a crucial time when players are being watched because of the upcoming World Cup might later drive him to leave United.
From having one of the worst finishes in United's history to being backed in the summer by INEOS, Ruben Amorim would realize he has no excuse not to deliver. After saying he wants to remain at United for a long time, only time will tell if he will be at United for almost 20 years like he said, or if he won't be at United come the end of the season.
