It is obvious that large sections of the Chelsea fanbase are, once again, “feeling slightly disconnected” with the club.
To be fair, I felt the same on January 1, 2026 when it was formalized that Enzo Maresca was no longer “Head Coach” of Chelsea Football Club. It felt like an untimely clash of egos that could very well have been solved with a handshake and a beer rather than briefs and counter-briefs.
What is also extremely untimely (or is it?) that this happened when the January window came along. A powder keg that seemed well and truly damp in the heydays of, gulp, November, was dry and ready to spark again.
Of course, it duly got lit when it was obvious that the incoming head coach was professional "man-ager" Señor Rosenior… ba-dum-tiss!

While ad hominem attacks are not new on X, there was a predictable deluge of disavowments.
It’s been nearly a month since Rosenior’s appointment and largely, against the run of play, results have ensured that the sentiment has abated a bit. With only 1 loss, that too in a fighting 3-2 loss, to league leaders Arsenal, the “PE Teacher” tag seems to have lost its shine—even though results belie underlying metrics.
And let’s not forget this ongoing Jacquet-Anselmino-BVB-Strasbourg saga. Should Anselmino throw a strop at being traded like cattle? Or does the Club truly know what’s good for him vis a vis being tapped up be “nice Germans” versus developing in order to serve the team long term? Does Sarr know what the plan for him is? What is the plan, in general, CFC?
Do we know?
The point is not to endorse or turning up ones nose at Rosenior.
The point is not whether shots are a good metric or vibes are.
The point is not whether who’s the best CB for Chelsea.
None of the above can be evaluated fairly until the season is done. That’s when analysis happens.

The point is Chelsea Football Club, we need to talk. You need to talk. You need to listen.
Chelsea Football Club—my club—needs a Counsel– I mean, a Communications Director. A competent one. As a brand builder myself, I’d happily (and cheekily) volunteer. Or I’ll nominate Nick Velarney (cos I know he’s an advertising guy too, apparently). Because the task at hand, while enormous, is easy to comprehend.
Explain simply, consistently, clearly what you’re thinking.
Are we going to build a stadium or rebuild Stamford Bridge? Why? When? How? CPO?
Are we data-led to the point where we don’t explain how and why we’re using said data? Why was Tosin a data-led, cheap, “PL proven” hire when clearly, he’s not able to provide consistent output. Similarly, why discard Trev, only to sheepishly bring him back, sweeping under the rug the fact that they got it thoroughly wrong. Disasi, Felix, we can go on.

While we promised open and honest engagement. We were told Dan Finklestein and Barbara Charone will soothe all that ails fans.
Instead, we have club brief after club brief after club brief.
"We want player X."
"We are very happy with our current squad."
I’ll take the 94 Kit dopamine, thanks.
But I'm not sure I want to be spoken to like I’m a child via Fabrizio Romano.
And all of this can be controlled NOW.
Now the part with the fans. How do we control how fans react on X and elsewhere?
Heh. Nice one.
