Cup Draws This Week: What Fans Need to Know
Four cup draws await English football fans this week

This week promises to be a fascinating one for supporters up and down the country, with draws scheduled across the Carabao Cup, Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League. For Premier League clubs and beyond, these ceremonies will shape the path ahead in both domestic and European competition.

Carabao Cup Round Three Draw

The Carabao Cup takes centre stage on Wednesday, August 27, with the third-round draw following Manchester United’s televised clash with Grimsby Town. That tie kicks off at 8pm, and the draw is expected at around 10:15pm (later if penalties are required).

This is the stage where the remaining Premier League clubs enter the competition, including Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and holders Newcastle United, who all skipped the second round thanks to European qualification.

UEFA Champions League – League Phase Draw

Europe’s biggest competition takes the spotlight on Thursday, August 28 as the League Phase draw is held in Monaco. This is the second season of the new 36-team format, with each side playing eight games. No club can face more than two teams from the same country, nor their domestic rivals.

For the first time, six Premier League clubs are in the hat: Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Europa League winners Tottenham Hotspur.

The Europa League draw follows on Friday, August 29 at 12pm BST in Monaco. Like the Champions League, it features 36 teams in a league phase, with each side playing eight fixtures.

Premier League representation comes from Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest, with the latter back in European action for the first time since 1995/96.
