Gareth Bale and his investment consortium have tabled a fresh bid in attempt to take ownership at the recently relegated Bluebirds.
The Story So Far
The former Wales and Real Madrid star had initially been rumoured to be investing in another recently relegated Championship side in Plymouth Argyle. However, Bale has publicly quashed these rumours and clarified that his and the consortium's focus has been on Cardiff City, with Bale saying "No, I have no idea where Plymouth came from, to be honest with you! But, it's always been Cardiff that we've been trying to get."

Moreover, Bale and his consortium have sent the Cardiff hierarchy a letter of intent including financial figures which was believed to be around the region of £40M, although there are varying reports saying the figure could have been as low as £20M according to Sky Sports. However, this purported offer was batted away by Cardiff officials and has been deemed to be well below what would be an acceptable offer for the club, if an official bid was to be submitted.
Bale’s Camp Doubles Down:
Despite their initial approach being rebuffed, Bale and his consortium appear undeterred. In recent days, sources close to the club have indicated that a second, improved offer has been tabled in an attempt to push negotiations forward.
Speaking in an interview with FOS Today, Bale said he believes a "more than fair offer" has been put forward and he awaits a response from the club.
"It's exciting news. We have a brand-new offer on the table, which has recently gone in," said Bale. Additionally, Bale said “We think it’s a great offer. One we think is very fair, if not more than fair, and it’s something we hope the current owners will take seriously."
"We'd love them to accept so we can take full control so we can get on with what we want to do and create Cardiff into a club we know it can be."
In a later interview with ESPN, Bale added that "It's kind of out of our hands now and we are looking forward to seeing what develops with that.
"Things are exciting and I'm looking forward to what the future holds."

The Road Ahead for Cardiff and Bale
According to WalesOnline, Bale and his party are not the only party to be interested in acquiring the Bluebirds, with other wealthy parties keen on the outfit due to the potential of the club.
Although Vincent Tan has reiterated his commitment to the Welsh outfit and returning them to the Championship, he has said before that "Everything is for sale, except family."
The potential appointment of Bale and his group and owners would certainly capture the hearts of Bluebirds fans, with Bale also stating some of his reasons for wanting to acquire the club being "It's my home club, it's where I grew up and my uncle used to play for them.
"To be involved with an ownership group would be a dream come true."
This is certainly a saga that is set to roll on into the future, which could spell exciting and prosperous times ahead for Cardiff.
