Leicester City and England legend Jamie Vardy has been spotted potentially training with Sunderland, as seen on his most recent Instagram post. Vardy has been a free agent since the end of the 2024/25 season, after his contract at Leicester City expired.

Jamie Vardy is nothing short of a footballing legend. He took his career from Non-League to the Premier League, leading the charge for Leicester City in their 2015/16 Premier League winning campaign, breaking goalscoring records along the way.

Sunderland fans and journalists alike have been quick to note that the training ground does not look like Sunderland’s “Academy of Light” training ground. Meaning Vardy is likely a Sunderland’s recent summer camp in Algarve, Portugal. However, that does beg the question, why is he there? Just on holiday? Or is he training for a potential move to the North East?

This all remains as speculation and conjecture, but with Sunderland’s upwards trajectory in this summer transfer window, who knows if Jamie Vardy may join this ambitious project on Wearside.
