Arsenal have been dealt a fresh blow after star forward Kai Havertz sustained a knee injury, forcing him into an immediate spell on the sidelines. The 26-year-old Germany international is awaiting the results of early assessments, leaving uncertainty over the severity of the injury and the expected duration of his recovery.

Havertz, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in 2023 for £65 million, has been a versatile and vital part of the Gunners’ attack, contributing nine goals in 23 appearances last season despite an injury-disrupted campaign.

His absence leaves Arsenal perilously thin up top, with summer signing Viktor Gyokeres as the only fully fit recognised striker. Gabriel Jesus remains sidelined by a long-term ACL injury, and Leandro Trossard, who recently signed a new contract, may need to fill in as a makeshift forward.

In response, Arsenal are reportedly proactively scouring the transfer market for attacking reinforcements to cover Havertz’s absence and bolster their title challenge. The club’s interest in a new forward was already evident, but this injury has heightened the urgency.
