Wolves are close to agreeing a £13 million deal plus add-ons for Almeria right-back Marc Pubill. They are hoping to conclude the deal in the next few hours amid interest from other clubs. The 22-year-old was part of the Spanish U-21 side who reached the Quarter-Final of the U-21 European Championship.

An Emerging Talent
Pubill is a talented young right-back who made his senior debut in December 2021 for Levante. At 6ft 2in, Pubill is known for his strong tackling, forward runs and crossing, which will suit Wolves manager Vitor Pereira's wing-back system. He left Levante to join Almeria in August 2023, where he made 63 appearances in all competitions, including 2 goals and 8 assists.
Pubill impressed with his performances last season, despite Almeria missing out on promotion back to La Liga. This led to interest from a number of clubs, including AC Milan. However, it looks like Wolves will win the race for his signature, aligning with this windows transfer policy of signing young talent who can develop under Pereira's leadership and guidance.
After Nelson Semedo's contract expired this summer, right-back was a key area to target in this window. With Pubill likely to join, Pereira will be pleased with how their transfer window has gone so far and will hope they can continue to secure their preferred targets with a focus on a left wing-back, forward and another centre-midfielder.
Jhon Arias is also expected to be officially announced sometime this week.
