How has Le Bris performed so far?
Looking further in-depth into the 2024/25 season under Le Bris, Sunderland were riding high to start, with five wins from their first six matches, including a win in the Wear-Tees Derby against Middlesbrough.
However, five straight draws through November, as injuries started to pile up, foretold how the rest of the season would go. Injury and inconsistency from the young squad put an end to the dreams of automatic promotion, with a five-game losing streak to conclude the season.
The Sunderland faithful feared what was to come in the playoffs, after sputtering to a 4th place finish, with players coming off injuries and needing to shake off their rust. However, Le Bris guided Sunderland through the Sky Bet Championship Playoffs and into the Premier League in his first season on Wearside.
By upsetting historic rivals Coventry City, with help from Dan Ballard's 121st-minute header, and fighting valiantly against steep favourites Sheffield United in the final, Le Bris cemented himself as a fan favourite in the Sunderland dugout.
