It is impossible to think of strikers who have made an impact at Chelsea without mentioning names like Didier Drogba, Hasselbaink, Anelka, Diego Costa and now, a controversial name; Nicolas JACKSON (in his voice).

There has been lots of criticism directed at him for the kind of player he is, the quality he possesses and how much he needs to develop his abilities to attain the level many Chelsea fans have expected him to reach.

For what it's worth, on most matchdays, it'll be imperial for onlookers to expect 2 or 3 missed chances from this absolute gem of a player which could be very disappointing but for Chelsea fans who have to watch him every week, it may be even more depressing. Given the fact that he contributes so much more to the team than just goals which makes him inevitable in potential XI's coupled with the fact that he lacked proper competition for the majority of his Chelsea career.

Nicolas Jackson's Missed chances

He is the sort of player you could never win against because he absolutely obliterates the eye test and if you were a scout, you'd think; "yeah, those misses could be worked on" but have Chelsea fans become impatient with a man that has racked about 100 appearances for the London side scoring 36 times and assisting 14 times? Is their frustration justified? Could these numbers have been more?

Nicolas Jackson in action for Chelsea FC

ABSOLUTELY!. His big chances missed in the Premier league stands out as he has managed to score 24 times while having ~29xG which means he underperformed by ~5xG.

A massive number for a striker in a big club like Chelsea FC. For more context, he has missed 30 chances in 64 Premier League appearances which highlights the player he is. A fan once described him as

"A player who gets himself in the best positions in the opponents box but manages to keep himself as far away from the ball as possible in the crucial nanoseconds leading to a goal".

Nicolas Jackson now has the opportunity to impress on loan with Bayern Munich. A team that already has one of the best strikers the football world has ever seen. How he fits in at Bayern is yet to be seen but there are positives to take from this move especially for him as a young player going to be backup to one of footballs anomalies in Harry Kane. He will train everyday with him, picking up a lesson or two from a striker who has scored 91 goals in as many appearances for the Bundesliga side.

Will this move make Nicolas Jackson a better player or will it highlight his inabilities further as a player who has great potential but lacks the cutting edge?

It's make or break season for Jackson in the big leagues and the Bundesliga is a great environment for him to play behind an all time great, allowing him time to learn while providing that figure to model his game around.

Fans can be excited for him as the possibilities of a link up with Harry Kane has more advantages for him than the disadvantages. Whether that is correct or not is up to the former Chelsea number 15 to decide.
