Spurs and PSG Name Squads for Super Cup Clash
Tomorrow's clash sees the UEFA Champions League winners take on the UEFA Europa League winners

Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed their squads for tomorrow’s UEFA Super Cup final at Stadio Friuli, Udine — and there’s no shortage of intrigue in the selections.

The match marks the first-ever competitive meeting between the two clubs, with both aiming to lift the trophy for the first time in their history.

Tottenham: Boosts and Big Absences

Goalkeepers: Guglielmo Vicario, Antonin Kinsky, Brandon Austin
Defenders: Pedro Porro, Djed Spence, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Kevin Danso, Destiny Udogie, Ben Davies
Midfielders: Joao Palhinha, Yves Bissouma, Archie Gray, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall, Pape Matar Sarr
Attackers: Mohammed Kudus, Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert, Mathys Tel, Richarlison, Dominic Solanke

Thomas Frank’s side receive a timely boost with Dominic Solanke named in the travelling squad. The striker has been recovering from an injury sustained in Tottenham’s opening pre-season friendly at Reading, but his inclusion suggests he could feature in Udine. If he’s not ready for the full match, Richarlison or Mathys Tel are likely to start up front.

Destiny Udogie is also included after missing the pre-season tour of Asia, though Djed Spence is tipped to start following a strong pre-season and doubts over Udogie's fitness.

Summer signings Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha are in line for their competitive debuts. However, Spurs remain without Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski, and James Maddison, with all three recovering from serious knee injuries. Maddison’s ACL tear against Bayern Munich last week will keep him sidelined for most of the season.

Dane Scarlett and Luka Vuskovic are omitted as they finalise loan moves, with the latter linked with German side Hamburg.

PSG: Two Big Absentees

Goalkeepers: Lucas Chevalier, Matvei Safonov, Renato Marin
Defenders: Achraf Hakimi, Lucas Beraldo, Marquinhos, Lucas Hernandez, Nuno Mendes, Noham Kamara, Willian Pacho
Midfielders: Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, Lee Kang-In, Warren Zaïre-Emery
Forwards: Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, Goncalo Ramos, Ousmane Dembélé, Desire Doué, Bradley Barcola, Ibrahim Mbaye

The standout omission for PSG is Gianluigi Donnarumma, amid strong speculation he could leave the club. With his contract up next summer, both Manchester City and Manchester United are reportedly monitoring the situation

In his place, Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year Lucas Chevalier — signed from Lille — is expected to make his competitive debut.

Elsewhere, Joao Neves is suspended following a red card in the Club World Cup final loss to Chelsea in July. Nordi Mukiele and Presnel Kimpembe miss out through injury, while new signing Ilya Zabarnyi is not registered in time to feature.

The Stage is Set in Udine

Thomas Frank’s first competitive match as Tottenham manager presents a chance to claim immediate silverware, though questions linger over his side’s attacking depth and ability to contain such a dominant force in the Parisians.

PSG, meanwhile, begin their campaign without their ever-reliable goalkeeper and a key midfield lynchpin. With both teams eager to start the season by lifting a trophy, this clash between the holders of UEFA’s premier competitions promises to be a captivating curtain-raiser.
