Victor Lindelof’s tenure at Manchester United has come to an end, and the Swedish defender took a moment to reflect on his time at the club in a heartfelt interview with MUTV. His words carried the weight of gratitude, pride, and bittersweet emotion as he looked back on a journey filled with highs, lows, and unforgettable memories.
“Yeah, I am proud of myself. It’s been a lot of ups and downs,” Lindelof said, encapsulating the rollercoaster of his eight-year spell at Old Trafford. Signed from Benfica in 2017, Lindelof arrived as a promising young centre-back and went on to make over 250 appearances for United.
For Lindelof, representing Manchester United was more than just a job—it was a dream fulfilled. “To be able to represent this club for eight years, it’s been an honour and a privilege, and a dream come true,” he shared.
The Swede’s bond with the fans was a recurring theme in his farewell message. Speaking about the iconic Stretford End, Lindelof’s voice carried a tinge of nostalgia: “I’ve had so many good memories here. Just looking at the Stretford End here, I mean, I’m going to miss it a lot.”
His gratitude toward the Manchester United supporters was palpable. “They’re [the fans] with us through absolutely everything, and it doesn’t matter the result, every single week, they come here and they support us and they sing their souls out.” he said.
Closing his message, Lindelof offered a heartfelt thank you to the fans who embraced him from the moment he arrived. “I just want to say thank you so much for taking me in,” he said, a simple yet powerful expression of gratitude for the love and support he received over the years.
