Manchester United have made it clear that Jadon Sancho isn't a part of their plan ahead of the 2025/2026 English Premier League season.

The 25-year-old joined the Red Devils from Borussia Dortmund for a £73m in 2021, but his time at Old Trafford has been a sad story, as has been most of United's recruits in the past three years.

In 83 games for the three-time UEFA Champions League winners, Sancho has scored just 12 times, not to mention he's gone out on two loan spells. One to Borussia Dortmund, and the other to Chelsea.

Why Manchester United want Sancho off their books

Sancho has obviously not yielded results for United, considering the fees they spent to bring him to Old Trafford.

The England International has just one more year left on his contract with the Reds, and Ruben Amorim's side wants to cash in on him as they risk losing him for free next summer.

A stumbling block in making an exit possible is Sancho's huge wages, although Manchester United are willing to part ways with him for as little as £25m.

Nottingham Forest are keen on bringing the one-time DFB Pokal winner to the City Ground, considering they just sold Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United.

Nottingham Forest is Sancho's best bet

Elanga, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Chris Wood, and even Mats Sels have had the best season of their professional careers with Nottingham Forest.

Elanga and Odoi were outcasts at Chelsea and Manchester United, respectively, a situation Sancho knows all too well.

The former Dortmund winger will slot right in under Nuno Espirito Santo's tutelage, whilst having the pressure of delivering on the big stage off his back.

Sancho would also have playing time under his belt, garnering another opportunity to return to the English National team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Additionally, Forest will be competing in Europe next season, a feat Manchester United cannot boast of as they finished 15th on the English Premier League table last season, while losing the UEFA Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur.

For this move to happen, Sancho will have to take a huge pay cut to join Nottingham Forest, but what will hurt his pockets now might just be the same thing that rejuvenates his career.
