Everton undone by the usual BS VAR decision and a lack of guile in their own performance! Gutted!
It was always going to be a tough night at Elland Rd, and the crowd were predictably intense and effective. A poor first half for the Blues which they got away with, mainly because Leeds are not that good. Second half was better but still lacking any potency from this so called naturally attacking team. Lots more work to do.
Everton never looked comfortable or confident in attack whilst on the ball. Even Moysie pointed out post match that there was too much negativity and back play rather than going forward. The amount of times I shouted ‘go forward’ at the telly only for the players to stop, flap, soil their pants, and then pass backwards was shocking, infuriating rather! OK it’s a new team and they need time to settle and blend, but come on, this was dog muck!

First home game is not going to be the eye opener fans wanted, and judging by previous home performances against BHA, a point will be a bonus.
Changes for Sunday? Surely a must? Grealish has to start. Keane has to be benched. O'Brien has to go centre, anyone with a pulse (not Keane) can go full back- Garner did very well tonight, but who goes right back?
Said it last week and will say it again, full backs are crucial for progress and confidence. Bottle is needed for goals, so if we can’t recover and transition direct to box we’re doomed.
If pessimism is to be allowed, I don’t see a goal from Everton until October. Hope I’m wrong, but watch and shoot, or in Everton’s case- go backwards.
