Anton Stach Credits Leeds United Teammates for Confidence in Wolves Win
Leeds United picked up their second win of the season

Anton Stach hailed the belief of his Leeds United teammates after scoring a spectacular first goal for the club in the 3-1 comeback victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

Stach’s brilliant 39th-minute free-kick—better than many he admitted to hitting in training—came alongside maiden goals for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor. The result marked Leeds’ first away win of the season and opened up a seven-point gap over Wolves, who remain winless.

Confidence Boost for New Signings

Calvert-Lewin and Okafor’s strikes were Leeds’ first goals from open play this season, and Stach believes their contributions will lift the entire squad.

"When you score a goal you get confidence every time, and I think it's good, especially for Noah and for me (who are new to the Premier League).

But it's not only for these players, it’s even more so for the whole team because after this win everybody wants to work and get the next win to have this feeling again," Stach said via the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Teammates Urged Stach to Shoot

Speaking about his stunning free-kick, Stach revealed how his teammates encouraged him to take the chance despite mixed training results.

"I told Gabby (Gudmundsson) I wanted to shoot. In training, it was not the best all the time but on Saturday I think it was a good hit.

Everybody in the team was telling me all the time, 'Be confident, just shoot because you have such a hard shot.'"

Stach also created Leeds’ third goal just before half-time, winning the ball back and threading it through for Noah Okafor, who calmly slotted into the far corner.

Leeds Showed Resilience at Molineux

Reflecting on the team performance, Stach emphasized the importance of hard work and resilience in the Premier League.

"It's so important for everybody, for the club. We try to keep going and take confidence out of this game.

The first half was really good. They had one chance and scored but then we were dominant.

In the second half we suffered a lot. But I think in the Premier League you have to do this, you have to suffer sometimes and you have to take points, even away.

We helped each other, we fought.

The last weeks were a bit unlucky sometimes. We suffered a lot, so it's a nice day for everybody."
