First Interview
During his first interview with the club, Guessand mentioned that Unai Emery was one of the main reasons for joining. He stated, "I'm a young player and I want to improve. I have many qualities that can improve, so when I spoke with the coach, I (knew) this is the right coach for me to become better and better."
The Ivorian spoke of how unique Villa Park's atmosphere is, referencing the PSG game in the Champions League last season, "The fans were crazy. I just want to meet the fans and my teammates. I just want to start it and live my dream." It was reported that Guessand turned down an offer from Saudi Arabian side Neom FC, as his heart was set on playing in the Premier League.
Speaking about his position, Guessand said, " I can say I'm a versatile player. I'm tall and a bit strong. Most players like me play No 9, but I can play 11,7,9,10. I've not (got) a specific position on the field, but I would say around the striker is where I feel the most comfortable."
Guessand will add much needed quality and depth to Villa's attack with supporters hoping he can make an instant impact. The new signing will wear the No 29.
