Aston Villa Discover Their Europa League Opponents
Unai Emery is gearing up for another Europa League campaign

Aston Villa's Europa League opponents have been announced. The draw took place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo, Monaco at 12:00 PM BST. This is Villa's third consecutive year competing in a European competition after reaching the Semi-Finals of the Conference League in the 23/24 campaign and the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League last season.

Villa will play a total of eight matches, four at home and four away. Two clubs are drawn from each pot, 1-4, with one fixture at home and the other away. The matchday dates have been confirmed, but the order of opponents are yet to be.

Matchday 1: 24/25 September 2025

Matchday 2: 2 October 2025

Matchday 3: 23 October 2025

Matchday 4: 6 November 2025

Matchday 5: 27 November 2025

Matchday 6: 11 December 2025

Matchday 7: 22 January 2026

Matchday 8: 29 January 2026

Pot One Opponents

Villa will host Austrian side FC Salzburg, which will be the first time ever the two sides have met. The Villans didn't lose a single game at home last season in the Champions League, so will be confident in all the home ties.

Their second fixture from pot one is a trip to Feyenoord. A return to Rotterdam, the place where Villa lifted the European Cup in 1982.

Pot Two Opponents

From pot two Villa will play Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv at Villa Park while their away fixture is against Turkish side Fenerbahce. Former Villa player Jhon Duran should make an appearance and potentially Diego Carlos, should he not depart before the transfer deadline.

Pot Three Opponents

In pot three, Villa face two Swiss sides, Young Boys at home and FC Basel away. The Villans beat Young Boys 3-0 away from home in the Champions League last year, whilst they played Basel back in 2001 in the UEFA Intertoto Cup.

Pot Four Opponents

Italian side Bologna will return to the Midlands, as they did last season in the Champions League where Villa won 2-0. Whilst another trip to the Netherlands is on the cards as they visit Go Ahead Eagles, who currently sit 13th in the Eredivisie.

Previous Records

Ambitions.

Unai Emery has the most Europa League titles of any manager with four and Villa supporters will be hoping he can add to that this season. Their squad certainly has the quality to do so, but so far under Emery they have lacked one thing - performing in big games. Should Villa turn that around, then there is no reason why they can't go all the way.
