Leeds United’s struggles in front of goal continued at the weekend as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Fulham in the Premier League. Gabriel Gudmundsson’s stoppage-time own goal proved the difference at Craven Cottage, leaving pundits and fans increasingly worried about the team’s lack of attacking threat.
The late goal came when Gudmundsson misjudged a corner, with the ball deflecting off his head and past goalkeeper Karl Darlow. Despite a disciplined defensive performance, Leeds once again failed to score — making it four consecutive Premier League matches without a goal from open play.

Jeff Stelling Raises Alarm Over Leeds Attack
Pundit Jeff Stelling expressed concern over Leeds United’s inability to score, insisting it is becoming a major issue.
“There were a lot of positives to take from Saturday’s game,” he told talkSPORT. “My concern has been from right at the start of the season. I don’t know where the goals are coming from. Just don’t see where the goals are coming from.”
Former Rangers striker Ally McCoist also sympathised with Leeds, particularly after Gudmundsson’s unfortunate own goal.
“It must have been heart-breaking for the Leeds boys,” McCoist said. “It kind of bounces off his [Gudmundsson’s] head, and it could go anywhere, but it’s just one of those things that flies into the goal. I thought they defended well over long, long periods.
“If my memory serves me right, I wrote it down after I watched the game, I think Calvert-Lewin had a great chance. Was it a header? I can’t remember. But particularly if you’re a club like Leeds, Sunderland and Burnley, the newly-promoted clubs, going away from home, you’ve got to take any chances you get.”
With a lack of goals piling pressure on both the squad and Daniel Farke, Leeds United will need a big response in their upcoming fixtures to avoid slipping further down the Premier League table. For now, the biggest question remains: where will the goals come from?
