A Star Born in Hertfordshire
Signed as a teenager from Fluminense, João Pedro arrived at Watford in January 2020 and quickly became a fan favourite. His flair, maturity beyond his years, and moments of individual brilliance made him one of the club’s most exciting attacking prospects in years.
Despite enduring the ups and downs of promotion and relegation battles, João Pedro was a consistent spark. In his final season at Watford (2022/23), he was not just the team’s best player — he was its heartbeat.
- Watford appearances: 109
- Goals: 24
- Assists: 9
The Path to Chelsea: Brighton Stepping Stone
In the summer of 2023, Pedro moved to Brighton & Hove Albion, stepping up to the Premier League with high expectations. Over two seasons at the Amex, he delivered consistently, notching up:
- 70 appearances
- 30 goals
- 10 assists
His versatility across the front line and ability to score in big moments made him one of Brighton’s standout performers — and attracted the attention of Chelsea.
In summer 2025, Pedro made the move to Stamford Bridge. Just weeks into his Chelsea career, he came off the bench in the Club World Cup Final, scoring the third and final goal in a 3–0 win over PSG. From the Championship to global silverware — all by the age of 23.
Watford Roots, Worldwide Rise
While he now plays among Europe’s elite, Pedro's formative footballing years in England were shaped in yellow and black. His technical ability and temperament were nurtured in the Championship, where he learned the physicality and resilience needed to succeed at the top.
Watford fans will remember the passion he played with — from dazzling footwork to decisive goals in tough fixtures. And while his departure left a gap in the squad, few could argue he hasn’t earned his shot at the biggest stage.
