Live Updates: Fantasy Premier League GW2 - All You Need to Know

As Gameweek 2 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season kicks off, managers are already tweaking their squads after a whirlwind opening weekend. With surprises aplenty and big names delivering mixed results, this week offers a chance to capitalize on early trends and avoid the pitfalls of certain transfers. Whether you're chasing points or climbing mini-league rankings, here’s all you need to know from each manager's press conference.

Eddie Howe (Newcastle)

Talking on the Alexander Isak saga

"My preference is it doesn't [play out] publicly. Everything is better behind closed doors, but needs must. The club has spoken, and probably justifiably so in that moment.

"Alex is contracted to us. My wish is he would be playing on Monday night with us, but he won't be. That's regrettable. I 100 percent want to see him in a Newcastle United shirt."

His relationship with Isak

"I haven't seen him this week. I saw him last week. When I see him, we speak as normal. There are no issues there between us. It's a difficult situation from both sides. It's far from ideal for both parties. Alex is training later on and detached from the group. We will catch up at some stage."

"For Alex to play for Newcastle again, he has to be totally committed. It doesn't work any other way."

Graham Potter (West Ham)

Positive team news

"Everybody's fine. George Earthy trained with group today. Luis Guilherme went over on his shoulder the week before the game so he is still missing but apart from that everybody is OK," Potter said.

Getting more out of the squad

"We have to get more out of the squad that we have. We also look to improve, we will do that together, as a club, we will do that collectively and try to find the best solution.

"It's great when you've had a bad result, everyone thinks the silver bullet will come from outside and save us all. History would suggest it doesn't work like that."

Belief in his players

"It's a disappointing result, there's no getting away from that. It's a bad result for us.

"I believe a lot in the players, believe a lot in the team, I believe a lot in the club and my job is to support them and to push and to improve."

Enzo Maresca (Chelsea)

An update on Jackson and Nkunku

Nicolas Jackson is "available but he is not going to be part of squad" tomorrow, says Enzo Maresca.

"We have two strikers and also we know that something can happen before the transfer window closes," he added.

"Christopher is with us, like Nico, but it's the same answer as Nico. The other two players [Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson] are training apart."

Positive injury news

There is good news for Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca with regards to his defence as he confirms centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo is back along with Wesley Fofana.

But midfielder Romeo Lavia and centre-back Benoit Badiashile remain sidelined.

Talking on the Wesley Fofana speculation

"I speak with Wes every day, he is very happy especially because he is back from injury.

"He is joining all the sessions and is very happy. After the Palace game he was on the bench, but from tomorrow he is with us and can get some minutes. We are happy and he is happy."

Whether Liam Delap and Joao Pedro can play together

"Joao can play up front, winger, or behind the striker. He can play in all the positions for sure. No 9 is his best position, or behind striker, but he can play in all positions for us.

Scott Parker (Burnley)

Positive injury updates

"Maybe some. Some are back training. Axel [Tuanzebe] is back training. [Bashir] Humphreys is back training.

"Armando [Broja] is now another week down the line and has had some more work in him which I'm really pleased about. They are all edging to be involved at the weekend."

Daniel Farke (Leeds United)

Bad news for Ampadu

Leeds manager Daniel Farke has confirmed captain Ethan Ampadu has suffered an medial collateral ligament injury.

"He will definitely be out at least until the international break. I hope to have him back on the other side of the international break," Farke said.

"Normally, he's pretty quick after injury, back on the training pitch and he's a tough boy, but it's a blow for us and we will miss him in the upcoming games - at least the two upcoming Premier League games, plus the EFL Cup game."

Brief update on Calvert-Lewin

DCL is a "we will see" but is in team training.

Potential debut for new signing

Daniel Farke hasn't ruled out handing Noah Okafor his debut this weekend.

"He has more or less all the skills. We will provide him with all the backing and a good stage to find a bit more consistency in comparison to what he has done in the last couple of years."

Regis Le Bris (Sunderland)

An update on team news

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris has said Jenson Seelt is available after he was forced off injured in Saturday's 3-0 win over West Ham.

On reports that the club could add Jhon Lucumi to their defensive line-up: "We still want to reinforce the squad if it makes sense for the balance. It is still possible in the backline if we find the right player with the right mindset to reinforce the squad. We still have one option but if it's not the case then we will stay like we are."

Arne Slot (Liverpool)

Update on the Isak and Guehi rumours

"What I can tell you is not a lot. And if someone else is going to ask that question, it is going to be the same answer.

"As I have said so many times and it has been shown, I could even impact the game on Friday with the players we had on the bench. It would be much nicer to talk about the players that we have.

"I understand why you have to ask the question."

Bad news for Frimpong

Arne Slot has just confirmed Jeremie Frimpong will be out until after the international break with a hamstring issue.

The Netherlands international was substituted late on in his Premier League debut against Bournemouth last week.

Talking on Bradley and Frimpong

"Conor [Bradley] trained for a few minutes with us today for the first time.

"The medical team were completely right about Jeremie [Frimpong] to tell me to take him off because he is out until the end of the international break and that happened during the game.

"I think I got criticised for taking him off, didn't I? It had nothing to do with how he played but we felt he had an issue with his hamstring and by we, I mean the medical staff. It was a good call to take him off. We expect to have him back after the international break."

The impact of having Gravenberch back

"I think he can make a lot [of difference]. At least, if he is the same player he was as last season.

"If you look back at last season, for him not being there and us playing with very good players but very attack-minded players - that hurt us [against Bournemouth].

"If he brings his normal level that will help us."

Transformation of Chiesa

"If he is more available, then he already has more chances to impact our results or his playing time. It is about him staying as fit as he is at the moment.

"I see a totally different Federico now than for large parts of last season which is completely normal because he missed the entire pre-season and he came into a Premier League rhythm in terms of amount of games and intensity."

Fabian Hurzeler (Brighton)

Positive injury updates

"He [Hinshelwood] trained fully so far. So will be an option."

On Baleba: "All positive, very positive. He tried the last days... we couldn't let him play for 90 minutes but now it's about getting him back to his highest level regarding physicality and then I'm sure it will be an option for us at the weekend."

Talking on the Julio Enciso rumours

"There are some talks but nothing is done yet.

"You can see that there's a big interest in him, because he has big potential, because he showed great stuff for us."

The need for another striker

"We miss one more striker. Stefanos [Tzimas] needs time to step into his role.

"We have two strikers with Danny [Welbeck] and Georginio [Rutter]... If Georginio starts you can replace him with Danny, but if you start with both we need to think about who is his replacement."

Positive feedback on Rutter's role in the team

"He is a great connector... Normally, you always have groups in a team, but he is someone who connects the different cultures, different ages, different characters, and that's so important.

"Every time you see him, you need to smile. He brings a good energy and he gives energy to everyone, and I think that's so crucial, because of course there's pressure, but I want the players to enjoy what they're doing."
