Manchester United are on the verge of securing Brentford’s star winger Bryan Mbeumo in a deal that could bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.
According to Ben Jacobs, United are pushing to finalise the signing before their pre-season preparations begin on July 7.
United’s second offer, exceeding £60m, is reportedly close to Brentford’s valuation, with ongoing discussions around add-ons to bridge the gap. Tottenham had also been interested, with the prospect of teaming up with Thomas Frank once again something to consider. However, United have stolen a march and look closer to completing the signing.
The Cameroon international, known for his pace, versatility, and clinical finishing, has been a long-term target for Ruben Amorim's side as they look to strengthen their squad.
Mbeumo, who has consistently impressed in the Premier League, could provide United with much-needed depth and dynamism on the flanks.
With negotiations progressing swiftly, fans will be hopeful the deal is wrapped up in time for the 25-year-old to join the team for pre-season training.
