Benjamin Sesko scored his first goal at Old Trafford which allowed Manchester United to sail past Sunderland 2-0.
A 31st minute corner kick from Dalot landed to the head of a Sunderland defender, Omar Alderete who unknowingly flicked the ball to the feet of Benjamin Sesko who buried the ball into the net for his first goal at Old Trafford to make it 2-0 to the Red Devils.
United opened the scoring in spectacular fashion in the 8th minute with a wonderful inside footed cross from Bryan Mbuemo found Mason Mount who set the shot up with his left and volleyed it home to the bottom right side of the goal.
Sunderland had a light back into the game snuffed with a penalty decision denied by VAR after a high foot by Sesko had been found to not hit the head of Trai Hume as first thought. Sunderland had other chances back into the game with a long ranged shot from Xhaka saved by debut goalkeeper Senne Lammens, Alongside a last minute run to the edge of the box by Mayenda gave United defenders a slight worry as it allowed the Spaniard to slide the ball to left winger, Chemsdine Talbi who shot right into the body of the United Keeper.

Breathing room for Amorim
The victory took United to 8th place in the Premier League alongside gifting Ruben Amorim crucial breathing room after the Portugese manager was under tense scrutiny following the 3-1 loss to Brentford the previous weekend.
Reality bullet for Sunderland
Sunderland on the other hand, remain in 6th place but could drop down after fixtures on Sunday, The Black Cats' failed to create clear goal scoring opportunities and were punished for it. Although maybe a slim slice of humble pie for Sunderland fans, the club have had a tremendous start to the season under Frenchman, Regis le Bris who will be hoping his team would bounce back after the result.
