France and Monaco midfielder, Paul Labile Pogba, has backed his ex-teammate, Marcus Rashford, to succeed at Barcelona after completing a loan move to the Catalan giants.

Pogba has had his fair share of troubles in recent seasons, missing out on a chunk of active football after he failed his doping test.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is now set for a new start with AS Monaco, who will be competing in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Manchester United head coach, Ruben Amorim, previously made it clear that Marcus Rashford wouldn't be a part of his plans since he joined the Red Devils last December.

Rashford spent the second half of the 2024/2025 season on loan at Aston Villa. The deal to move him to Villa Park included an option to buy for Β£40million, but Unai Emery's side decided against exercising the clause.

The England International continued to train alone while Manchester United gave out his number 10 jersey to their new signing from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Matheus Cunha.

Rashford has now completed a loan move to Barcelona, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Pogba, on a stream with YouTuber, iShowSpeed, reacted to Rashford's move to Spain, revealing Manchester United will miss having him on the pitch.

"That's crazy," was the Frenchman's immediate response to the question. "I'm happy for him because they took his number out."
"Manchester United, they're losing a great player. Marcus Rashford, that will be great for Barcelona, to be honest.
"I'm not even talking about Manchester United because they've bought two players and the new manager wants to do his thing, I guess, so it's not really his fault if he doesn't believe in someone.
"He needs to win at the end, you know, if he doesn't play well, he doesn't win, they're gonna sack him, but, like, I'm happy for Marcus," the former Juventus midfielder concluded.

The two ex-Manchester United players could be reunited in the coming season if their respective teams are drawn against themselves in the group phase of the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League season.

Should that happen, it'll be the first time the pair have faced each other on opposing sides at club level.
