Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund full-back Julian Ryerson, according to Sky Sports Germany. The 27-year-old Norwegian is also attracting interest from Sunderland, Ryerson, while not pushing for a move, is said to dream of playing in the Premier League.
Premier League dreams could sway Ryerson
Although Ryerson is not actively pushing for an exit from Dortmund, the lure of English football could prove too strong to resist. A regular for the Bundesliga giants last season with 29 league appearances, the versatile defender impressed with his high energy, tactical discipline, and ability to play on either flank. This adaptability and Champions League experience would make him an ideal addition to Wolves' defensive setup.
With Wolves making plenty of changes for this coming season, Ryerson could provide much-needed depth after Wolves have lost both their starting wing-backs, Nélson Semedo and Rayan Aït-Nouri. His aggressive style would complement Vítor Pereira's system, which often requires an attacking output from his wide defenders.

Strengthening the Norwegian core
If Ryerson does make the move to Molineux, he would join a growing Norwegian contingent already at the club. Jørgen Strand Larsen joined from Celta Vigo last season and made the loan move permanent this summer, and David Møller Wolfe has just made the switch to the club, signalling a clear recruitment trend. The presence of familiar faces could give Wolves the edge over Sunderland and help him settle quickly into a new environment, both on and off the pitch.
Norwegian players are becoming increasingly valuable assets in European football - Technically strong, tactically intelligent, and physically capable. Ryerson fits that mould perfectly and could become another smart acquisition for Wolves as they continue to rebuild their squad after many of its senior players have made their exit this summer.
