Aston Villa's Transfer Window Summary
Monchi, Unai Emery and Damian Vidagany

Aston Villa had a transfer window clouded by their financial struggles complying with both PSR and UEFA's rules. Incomings were less than they would have hoped for with only five senior signings, but crucially they have cleared a lot of deadwood off their books. Having missed out on the Champions League last season on goal difference, improving the squad was needed to provide more consistent results.

Take a look at all the incomings and outgoings this summer.

Incomings

Zepiqueno Redmond

The 19-year-old joined on a free transfer from Feyenoord. He made 9 appearances in all competitions, as a striker, scoring 2 goals. Redmond has since gone on a season-long loan to Huddersfield.

Yasin Ozcan

Ozcan signed a pre-contract agreement in February from Kasimpasa, where he made 94 appearances. The 19-year-old, who is capable of playing as a centre-back and left-back, has since joined Anderlecht on a season-long loan.

Marco Bizot

The Dutch goalkeeper joined from French side Stade Brest for a low fee. Bizot has a wealth of experience at 34-years-old and will provide backup to Emiliano Martinez following the departure of Robin Olsen.

Modou Keba Cisse

Cisse signed a pre-contract agreement this summer with Villa in a £4 million deal with LASK. The 20-year-old will join Villa next campaign after spending this season back on loan at the Swiss side. He plays as a centre-back.

Evan Guessand

Evan Guessand joined Villa from Nice in a £30 million deal. The 24-year-old is a dynamic, versatile forward who can play anywhere across the front three. He represents Ivory Coast at international level despite playing in France's youth teams.

Victor Lindelof

Lindelof signed for Villa on a free transfer, following the expiration of his contract with Manchester United earlier in the summer. The Swedish international signed a two-year-deal with an option to extend for a further year. The centre-back provides depth in the defence of the Villa squad.

Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho joined Villa on Deadline Day on a season-long loan from Manchester United. The deal does not include any buy option. The 25-year-old can play on the left and right wing and will provide Villa with different attributes than they currently have in attack.

Harvey Elliott

Villa signed Harvey Elliott from Liverpool on a season-long loan that includes an obligation to make the move permanent next summer. The fee is reportedly around £30-£35 million. After Marco Asensio's loan had ended, Villa were actively looking for a No 10 that can replicate his performances. At 22-years-old, Elliott still has a lot of football ahead of him, having already played over 150 senior games. Under Unai Emery, he could develop into an exciting player.

Squad

Overall Villa have 23 first-team players in their squad. In the Europa League Villa can only register 21 players (List A) who are not "club-trained" out of the 25 slots available. Only Lamare Bogarde is club-trained so one player will have to miss out. Last season in the Champions League, January signings Andres Garcia and Donyell Malen were left out. It's likely that Garcia misses out again because Villa have Ezri Konsa, Bogarde and Victor Lindelof who all act as cover for the right-back spot. U-21 players are registered in a separate squad (List B) so Emery can access more players if needed.
