Paris Saint-Germain defender Lucas Beraldo has reportedly handed in a transfer request following the French Champions' defeat to Chelsea in the Club World Cup. On Sunday, the PSG were looking to add the revamped tournament to their historic season but were humbled by a 3-0 defeat in the United States.
Lucas Beraldo hands in Transfer Request
Following the aftermath of the final at the MetLife Stadium, reports have emerged that PSG defender Lucas Beraldo has submitted a transfer request, just 18 months after joining the Ligue 1 side from Sao Paulo. Although his next destination is unclear, the 21-year-old Brazilian is keen to leave the Parc des Princes in search of regular playing time to earn a spot in Brazil's 2026 World Cup squad.

PSG has accepted his desire to leave but on two conditions: a fair fee (nothing less than €30M) and Illia Zabarnyi’s arrival. @Tanziloic pic.twitter.com/Fe5awkcMya
Club World Final defeat fuels Frustration
Beraldo started in Sunday's final in the absence of Pacho but struggled particularly against attacking threats of Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro. The transfer request came as a surprise to PSG, who had not anticipated such a move so soon after signing Beraldo.
Conditional Green Light for Beraldo Exit
Beraldo's departure hinges on PSG's ability to secure a defensive replacement. The French side are keen to maintain a squad depth and won't rush a deal without signing proper cover at the back. The club have set their sight on Bournemouth's Ukrainian defender Illia Zabarnyi and talks are already in place.
🚨 PSG and Bournemouth are close to reaching an agreement for Illia Zabarnyi.
